Phoenix Multisport is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to foster a supportive, physically active community for individuals who are recovering from substance use disorder and for those who choose to live a sober life. By participating in our physical, social and education programs, participants build confidence, self-respect, and community. Activities offered include climbing, hiking, surfing, boxing, running, yoga, CrossFit, road & mountain biking, and strength training. Through traditional fundraising strategies and revenue ventures, Phoenix is able to provide free programs for anyone with 48 hours of sobriety. Phoenix also partners with organizations that serve individuals with substance use disorders to provide health and wellness programming for their clients and to bridge their clients to our free community programs, where they can access long-term support for recovery. Phoenix currently operates in California, Colorado, Idaho, and Massachusetts.

Position Summary: The ideal candidate will be an experienced yoga instructor with appropriate certification and experience teaching group classes. A strong connection to Phoenix Multisport's mission is critical; preference will be given to those with personal experience in recovery from alcohol or substance use disorder. In addition to running multiple weekly programs and events, this position will be expected to aid in general administrative functions. Additional experience instructing other disciplines (Climbing, CrossFit, boxing, personal training, etc.) is a bonus, but is not expected.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate partnership and community programming as assigned
  • Carry out administrative functions, including updating program schedule on our website, conducting outreach events and data entry
  • Assist with facility maintenance and upkeep to ensure the facility and programming space are trauma informed (accessible, clean, safe, welcoming), reflect Phoenix Multisport's core values and community standards
  • Attend and participate in local and national staff meetings, and programming and partnership team meetings
  • Under supervision of the Chapter Manager, ensure coverage of community and partnership programs
  • Review and respond promptly, accurately and cordially to all inquiries
  • Support the achievement of quarterly and annual community programming and partnership goals
  • Contribute to social media through Facebook, twitter and Instagram
  • Additional duties as assigned 

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge and consistent demonstration of excellent customer service skills
  • Knowledge and adherence to the policies, procedures and goals of Phoenix MultiSport
  • Ability to listen well and communicate effectively orally and in writing with various audiences
  • Ability to use standard office equipment, computer equipment and software including word processing, data base management, spreadsheet applications and electronic mail
  • Ability to work effectively with employees, management, customers, other governmental agencies, community members and the general public
